Thor v1 #165, 1969 - Placed inside military research center, a powerful being called
Him emerges from an oversized cocoon. Thor, Lady Sif and Balder stand ready, even as he recounts his arrival on Earth. Things go awry when he claims Sif as his mate. He transports them to another dimension with the heroes in pursuit.
Jack Kirby prominently displays the new character on a cover that fills all available space. Large panels and full splashes abound in the interiors, typical of the grandeur of Kirby's artwork on this series. Him makes his presence known with a full facial portrait on page 8. Although the character first appears in two panels of >
Fantastic Four #67, this issue marks his first full appearance. He later adopts the name Adam Warlock in
Marvel Premiere #1. This is 41 of 54
