Thor v1 #346, 1984 - A mortal guarding the Casket of Winters is trapped by demonic hounds. Thor arrives just in time to fend them off and confront their master, the Dark Elf. Walt Simonson draws two different splash pages with equal skill: a Manhattan street scene and a massive otherworldly army. On page 12, a seemingly endless horde of hounds converge upon a traffic-clogged bridge (see interior page shown below). Simonson's artwork gains additional polish through the distinctive inks of Terry Austin. This is 22 of 55 Thor issues by Simonson.
