New Romances #16 - Alex Toth art

New Romances #16
New Romances v1 #16, 1953 - Romanced by an older, wealthy gentleman, Priscilla wonders if she's wasting her time with her boyfriend Jimmy. Alex Toth's opening page is not as well drawn as I'd like, but I credit his use of metaphors (fiery brazier for the younger man, hourglass for the older one). As usual, his layouts are purposefully designed. Toth employs more heavy blacks and shadows, creating interesting graphic patterns in the overall page designs. Other artists in this golden age comic include Vince Colletta. This is 4 of 8 New Romances issues by Toth.
