World's Finest Comics v1 #272, 1981 - Endowed with dazzling powers, the villainess Chain Lightning makes her debut. While robbing a charity ball, Mary Marvel intervenes and learns her new foe is evenly matched. Don Newton's varied layouts ensure plenty of action. His drawings, while recognizable, lack polish to a less compatible inker. In addition to the busy title page, the overall artwork is less than electrifying. This story was later reprinted in Shazam! The World's Mightiest Mortal #3. Other artists in this copper age issue include Trevor Von Eeden and Rich Buckler.
