True Secrets #37 atlas romance comic nook cover 1950s
True Secrets #37
True Secrets v1 #37, 1956 - Gail finds her one true love, only to find out he's moving from their small hometown to the big city. Matt Baker's linework is cleaner than usual, perhaps losing some depth but gaining clarity. His layouts, however, are wonderfully varied, employing a combination of closed, open and free-flowing panel shapes. Baker's large opening panel has no border at all, giving the illusion of infinite space (perhaps suggesting the couple's infinite love?). Other artists in this golden age comic include Jay Scott Pike and Vince Colletta. This is 2 of 4 True Secrets issues by Baker.
