Brave and the Bold v1 #28, 1960 - A giant alien starfish called Starro (of course) is determined to conquer our planet. Aquaman is the first to discover the plot and signals Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern and the Flash to join him. Only Superman and Batman decline due to other crises. Making their first appearance as the Justice League of America. the team triumphs with the help of a teenager named Snapper Carr. Incidentally, this cover is the first cover appearances of Martian Manhunter and Aquaman. This Gardner Fox story, drawn by Mike Sekowsky and Bernard Sachs, was later reprinted in Justice League of America #39. After two more issues of Brave and the Bold, the team's adventures continue in Justice League of America #1. Cover by Sekowsky and Sachs.
