Though drawn satisfactorily, the artist is assigned to a different story inside. A young mother-to-be stays with her in-laws, awaiting her husband's return from a military base. Tragically, she loses the baby due to her own indiscretions. The tale is jarring by 1950s standards, but the artist treats the characters and circumstances with great empathy. Lovingly rendered, this skillful effort caps Baker's long and productive run on this title. Other artists in this golden age comic include Bill Molno, Arthur Peddy and Edd Ashe. This is 18 of 18 Wartime Romances issues by Baker.
