New Mutants / Marvel Graphic Novel v1 #4, 1982 - For the third time, Professor X gathers young mutants for their own protection, forging them into a team. Making their first appearance as the New Mutants: Cannonball (Sam Guthrie), Sunspot (Roberto Decosta), Mirage (Danielle Moonstar) and Wolfsbane (Rahne Sinclair). Joining them is Karma, who debuted in Marvel Team-Up #100. Helping Xavier with their development is scientist Dr. Moira MacTaggart. Like the new X-men, the young heroes come from different countries and have distinct abilities.
