My Own Romance v1 #60, 1957 - At seventeen, Carol is convinced she's found her true love, but her parents insist on her dating others boys. Beautifully rendered, Matt Baker chronicles a teenage girl's dilemma with tenderness. His fine brushwork is mostly recognizable, but the inks on page 3 seem to be by another's hand (see interior page below). The style is similar to EC artist Graham Ingels. Note that comic book price guides fail to credit this story to Baker. Other artists in this golden age comic include Jay Scott Pike and Ann Brewster. Cover by Vince Colletta.
