Northwest Mounties #2 |
Northwest Mounties v1 #2, 1949 - Searching for a fur trapper wanted for murder, a mountie is obstructed by the man's kid sister. The setting of the Canadian wilderness is a change from Matt Baker's usual urban-based crime stories. His smooth, supple linework makes up for his conservative layouts. Note that the writer includes several cringe-worthy scenes of racism and racial stereotyping. Other artists in this golden age comic include Paul Gattuso. Cover by Bob Lubbers. This is 2 of 4 Northwest Mounties issues by Baker.
