All American Men of War v2 #50
All American Men of War v2 #50, 1957 - A bazooka team traverses the European countryside in search of enemy tanks, but finds other equally deadly targets instead. Though not specified, Joe Kubert's use of large, broken statues suggests Greece or Italy. His opening splash of the main characters under attack amidst the rubble is outstanding. Remaining pages are artfully detailed and well paced. This story was later reprinted in G.I. Combat #140. Other artists in this golden age comic include Irv Novick and Russ Heath. This is 21 of 46 All American Men of War issues by Kubert.
