House of Mystery paperback v1 #1, 1973 - Jack Oleck's horrific text stories are accompanied by beautiful Bernie Wrightson illustrations throughout. While some drawings are better than others, his overall linework is extraordinary. Wrightson also supplies the full color cover, but even that pales by comparison to the black and white masterpieces scattered inside. The craftsmanship matches some of his best efforts on DC's House of Mystery (roughly from the same era). Oleck's writing matches the tone of his earlier work for EC. This is 1 of 2 House of Mystery paperbacks by Wrightson.
