All-American Comics #88 - Alex Toth art

All-American Comics #88
All-American Comics v1 #88, 1947 - Holding Dr. McNider hostage, a gang of criminals tests the theory that he might actually be Dr. Mid-nite. Alex Toth's artwork is early in his career. but it shows some of his future potential. His figure drawing is better than most. The layouts are fairly standard, but his use of angles is interesting and memorable. This is Toth's only Dr. Mid-nite story in the series. This story was later reprinted in DC 100 Page Super Spectacular #DC-20. Other artists in this golden age comic include Irwin Hasen and Al Smith. This is 1 of 9 All-American Comics issues by Toth.
