Pathways To Fantasy v1 #1, 1984 - In addition to the shimmering cover, Barry Smith chronicles the tale of a wandering barbarian seeking revenge on the killers of his family. A lone wolf accompanies him without his consent. The sophisticated artwork works well with the narration and when no words are necessary. Even more subtle is Jeff Jones' tale of someone's faint childhood memory. The imagery is mostly landscapes, but they are as profound as they are beautiful. Note how Smith's cover features the same character on the cover of Epic Illustrated #7. Other artists in this copper age comic include John Bolton. This is 1 of 1 Pathways To Fantasy issues by Smith and 1 of 1 Pathways To Fantasy issues by Jones. /// key 1st issue- - - - - - - - - -
