Giant-size Avengers v1 #2, 1974 - The immortal Kang captures the Avengers in a plot to dominate the world. Only the Swordsman and the recently-returned Hawkeye are left to mount a rescue. Dave Cockrum illustrates this twenty-nine page tale with vigor and enthusiasm. While it appears he inked most of his own pencils, several panels and pages reveal other hands, including Bob McCleod. Most surprising is Neal Adams' uncredited inks. The artist almost certainly did pages 22-23 and a small handful panels throughout the story. Evidenced by the splash page below, Adams' contributions are small but significant improvements. Also in this issue: a Jack Kirby tale from Fantastic Four #19. Other artists in this comic include Ron Wilson and Frank Giacoia.
