Creepy #14 |
Creepy v1 #14, 1967 - When the young Teresa Veneto dies suddenly, will her ancient familial curse cause her to rise as a vampire? Neal Adams' contemporary realism stands out from the rest of the book his first effort on this series. Mixing pencil shades, greytones and cross-hatching, the artwork has variety without being too inconsistent. This story was later reprinted in Eerie v3 #125. Steve Ditko chronicles of a lone barbarian's quest to slay a powerful wizard. Beautiful washes adorn the pencils in each panel. Ditko's graphic style is perfectly suited for this sword and sorcery tale (reprinted in Eerie v3 #135). Also, the letters page has a fan illustration by a young Frank Brunner. Other artists in this bronze age magazine include Dan Adkins, Gray Morrow and John Severin. This is 1 of 5 Creepy issues by Adams and 6 of 8 Creepy issues by Ditko.
