Hollywood Confessions v1 #2, 1949 - A hard driving movie director destroys everyone in his wake. Despite the enthusiasm of Joe Kubert's drawings, there's a little too much distortion for my tastes. One noteworthy visual is the splash on page 6, featuring a montage of the main character's frenetic life (see interior page below). In Kubert's second tale, an aspiring starlet forsakes true love for her career. This time the artist inks Hy Rosen's pencils, delivering only marginal improvement overall. Kubert's cohesively composed cover outshines both of his stories. Other artists in this golden age romance comic include Carmine Infantino. This is 2 of 2 Hollywood Confessions issues by Kubert.
