Our Army at War #85 - Joe Kubert art + 1st Ice Cream Soldier

Our Army at War #85
Our Army at War v1 #85, 1959 - Sometimes melting away from enemy fire, a new recruit is disparagingly called the "Ice Cream Soldier" by the rest of Easy Company. He eventually becomes one of the core characters in the unit. Joe Kubert's pacing, layout and drawings continue to be impressive. This issue marks the start of a decades-long run on this title. This story was later reprinted in >G.I. Combat #150. Other artists in this golden age comic include Russ Heath. Cover by Jerry Grandenetti. This is 26 of 236 Our Army at War issues by Kubert. /// key 1st appearance Ice Cream Soldier
