Our Army at War v1 #85, 1959 - Sometimes melting away from enemy fire, a new recruit is disparagingly called the "Ice Cream Soldier" by the rest of Easy Company. He eventually becomes one of the core characters in the unit. Joe Kubert's pacing, layout and drawings continue to be impressive. This issue marks the start of a decades-long run on this title. This story was later reprinted in >G.I. Combat #150. Other artists in this golden age comic include Russ Heath. Cover by Jerry Grandenetti.
