New Romances #11 |
New Romances v1 #11, 1952 - Due to his dying mother's wish, Gary agrees to marry his childhood friend Adele despite his love for someone else.
Alex Toth's second effort on this series shows creative and varied layouts. With the exception of some facial distortion on page 2 panel 3, Mike Peppe's inks remain faithful to the pencils. Just the sheer number of different angles and facial expressions is impressive, as Toth pushes the limits of the genre. Other artists in this golden age comic include John Celardo. The cover photo features Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift. This is 2 of 8

The downward angle in panel three doesn't work very well- the figures seem to occupy different spaces.
