Young Romance #164 |
Young Romance v1 #164, 1970 - Two sisters search for their respective true loves, all the while discouraged by their over-protective mother. This second of two chapters focuses on the younger sibling, as her daydreams conflict with her realities. Though lacking an opening splash (like the previous issue), Alex Toth nonetheless produces a memorable piece. Page 6 stands out from the rest, using dramatic lighting to heighten the character's loneliness. Like the previous chapter, inker Dick Giordano does a similarly satisfactory job. This story was later reprinted in Young Love #114. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Vince Colletta. This is 2 of 2 Young Romance issues by Toth.
