1955 - As they near the kingdom of Aba-Zulu, Dan-el and Natonga are still pursued by Obelo warriors who seek to enslave them.
Russ Manning's first page is lackluster, mostly due to the similarity of the drawings. Subsequent pages are better, varying the perspectives and viewpoints. On page 2 panel 1, Manning draws a fine double portrait of the heroes, set against a painterly evening sky.
