G.I. Combat v1 #88, 1961 - Aside from a WWII sniper's bullet unable to make a hole of that size, it's a decent cover concept. Joe Kubert gets the message across by keeping the design simple. The green GI helmet against a reddish sky also helps. Still, this effort is not at the level of his other silver age war books. Other artists in this issue include Russ Heath, Jack Abel and Jerry Grandenetti. This is 30 of 190 G.I. Combat issues by Kubert.
