Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #59 |
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #59, 1945 - After seeing a film about a boy who tames a wild horse, Donald Duck is convinced he can do the same at the Lazy K Dude Ranch. Carl Barks uses an unusually high number of panels within this relatively short story. Most pages contain eleven to twelve in all. Still, Barks seems to compose each scene with care. Only a handful of panels feel truly crowded as a result. Still, the artwork itself shows no diminishment in quality. Other artists in this golden age comic include Al Taliaferro. Cover by Walt Kelly. This is 28 of 280 Walt Disney's Comics and Stories issues by Barks.
