Thor v1 #260, 1977 - Secretly trying to gain information on the enemy, Balder finds himself locked in battle with the Executioner and the Enchantress. Walt Simonson begins his first run on the series, a lesser known collection of largely forgettable issues. Whatever potential is pencils had is overshadowed by Tony Dezuniga's dominant inks. The opening and closing splash pages fail to elicit excitement. Even Joe Sinnott's cover inks seem to bury the pencils. Simonson would ultimately find more success on his second run, starting with Thor #337 and his introduction of Beta Ray Bill. This is 1 of 55 Thor issues by Simonson.
