Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #142 - Carl Barks art & cover

Carl Barks
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #142, 1952 - Planning a trouble-free holiday, Donald Duck takes his nephews on a houseboat in the middle of Lake Erie. Carl Barks takes this innocuous setting and turns it into a farce, culminating in an incident at Niagra Falls. As usual, his lively drawings only add to the amusing storyline. On the last page, the artist uses a magnifying glass as a visual device, something few of his peers could conceive of. Barks' cover is nearly as engaging. This story was later reprinted in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #370. Other characters featured in this issue include Mickey Mouse.
