Tarzan v1 #225, 1972 - A killer of innocent women and children, known as the "Moon Beast", plagues a local tribe. Tarzan finds himself accused of the murders by the manipulative witch doctor.
Joe Kubert purposely shrouds the killer's face throughout, allowing readers to focus instead on his beastly characteristics. His rendition of the villainous witch doctor is more overt and straightforward. Overall, the artwork suffices with its gritty yet spontaneous approach. Kubert does include his usual two-page title spread and a full page splash towards the climax. Both illustrations are neither poor nor exemplary, but overall meet expectations. This is 19 of 44
