Star Spangled War Stories v1 #76, 1958 - One of Joe Kubert's early covers on this series, a lone GI fends off an enemy plane while being rescued. Using a central figure to fill the entire layout was a common practice, but Kubert's draftsmanship seems to waver. Given the looseness of the rendition, perhaps Mort Drucker assisted in some way?
