Uncle Scrooge #39 - Carl Barks art & cover

Carl Barks
Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge #39, 1962 - Completely devoid of his precious nutmegs, Uncle Scrooge travels to their source in a remote South American jungle. Carl Barks infuses his tale with headhunters, witch doctors and wild potions. Capably drawn, the artist finds humor in the exotic. In two other features, Scrooge fends off the thieving Beagle Boys with a mechanical sphere and Gyro Gearloose invents a fish communication device. Barks draws both with skillful enjoyment. "Getting the Bird", "Nest Egg Collector" and "A Spicy Tale" were later reprinted in Uncle Scrooge #102, "Tricky Experiment" in >Walt Disney Comics Digest #34 and >Uncle Scrooge #136, "Finny Fun" in Walt Disney Comics Digest #31. This is 39 of 70 Uncle Scrooge issues by Barks.
