Teen-age Romances v1 #33, 1953 - Matt Baker's suggestive, baseball-themed cover is beautifully rendered. Figures placed at different intervals effectively increase the scene's depth. Curiously, this story is absent from the issue. Baker's sole contribution inside is the tale of Joan, a girl who traps her man into marriage then proceeds to cheat on him. Baker's splendid drawings are backed up by his fine linework and cross-hatching. The increase in detail displays his high degree of commitment and craftsmanship. Other artists in this golden age comic include Ric Estrada and Mike Sekowsky. This is 30 of 42 Teen-age Romances issues by Baker.
