Tomahawk #136 - Joe Kubert art & cover

Joe Kubert
(Son of) Tomahawk v1 #136, 1971Joe Kubert submits a Firehair back-up tale, chronicling the time the hero captured a magnificent wild horse. Only six pages long, this effort is beautifully drawn in a loose, impressionistic style (similar to the cover). Few artists could draw the fight between two horses on page 4. Fewer still have Kubert's knowledge of equine figures and anatomy. This story was later reprinted in Limited Collectors' Edition #C-52. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Frank Thorne. This is 6 of 10 Tomahawk issues by Kubert.
