Apache Kid v1 #13, 1955 - Joe Kubert chronicles the typical day of a pony express rider: riding miles over rugged terrain, escaping bloodthirsty indians and fending off highway robbers. The artwork is more understated than usual, but reliable in its craftsmanship. Kubert delivers well-designed layouts, despite using a rigid six panel grid (see interior page below). Note that this work is unattributed to the artist. This story was later reprinted in
Western Gunfighters v2 #2. Other artists in this golden age comic include Russ Heath. This is 1 of 1
