Our Army at War v1 #57, 1957 - Two GIs face wave after wave of enemy soldiers. One stays cool as a cucumber, the other worries enough for both of them. Joe Kubert draws this odd couple in great detail, contrasting their reactions and facial expressions. The tension and high pressure are partially conveyed through closely cropped panels. Kubert often uses the characters' point of view, sharing the experience with the reader. Other artists in this issue include Jack Abel and Russ Heath. Cover by Jerry Grandenetti.
