Tarzan v1 #45, 1953 - Heading back to their tribe, the Brothers of the Spear is pursued by enemy soldiers. Trapped in a ravine, the two escape through a cavern opening. Russ Manning's artwork shows promise on certain pages and panels, honing his skills with each issue. Jungles and underground caverns provide ample opportunity but Manning's inexperience is evident.
