Abbott and Costello #10 - Joe Kubert art

Abbott and Costello #10
Abbott and Costello v1 #10, 1950 - A Son of Sinbad tale appears inexplicably in this title starring the comedic duo of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. A few months earlier, the character appeared in Son of Sinbad #1, his one and only other appearance in comics (besides a 1953 reprint). Joe Kubert, whose superb artwork graced the earlier issue, also drew this seemingly misplaced story. Even with eight pages, the panels are numerous and full of dialogue, diminishing the size and proportion of the drawings. Although these constraints make this a less impressive effort, Kubert does a largely commendable job, especially with the terrific opening splash. Other artists in this golden age comic include Lily Renee. This is 1 of 1 Abbott and Costello issues by Kubert.
