Marvel Super Special #16 |
Marvel Super Special v1 #16: Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back, 1980 - One of his longest stories to date, Al Williamson adapts the second landmark Star Wars film. Drawn in a sharply delineated style, the ninety-plus page magazine has plenty of fine moments. Renditions of Luke, Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca and Darth Vader are especially good. Sensitively detailed panels reside within a wide variety of layouts. Williamson masterfully uses dramatic lighting to heighten many of the key scenes. In addition, Carlos Garzon's inks faithfully maintain the integrity of the pencils. This story, containing the first comic book appearance of Boba Fett, was later reprinted in Star Wars #39-44. Cover art by Bob Larkin. This is 1 of 3 Marvel Super Special issues by Williamson. /// key 1st appearance Boba Fett, Specialty issue (movie)
