Wedding Bells v1 #16, 1956 - Beautiful people at a formal party are the subjects of this typical Matt Baker cover. A man acknowledges his date's preference over him, but doesn't seem disturbed by it. The artist avoids filling much of the background, opting instead for more party participants. Is the mirror in the left intended as a metaphor? Inside, the corresponding story is just as well drawn. Some of the finishes are slicker than usual, due to an unknown inker (Donald Sultan?). Still, Baker's empathetic style comes through on every page. Other artists in this golden age romance comic include Ogden Whitney. This is 2 of 3
