The Phantom v2 #39, 1970 - Brigands on horseback attack a small African village, creating a crisis for the residents and an American peace corps volunteer. Though only four pages, Steve Ditko does an admirable job with this back-up story. His drawings are clean, crisp and visually compelling. His linework is prevalent throughout the pages, adding shading and pattern where necessary. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Pat Boyette. This is 2 of 2 Phantom issues by Ditko.
