Tarzan v1 #40, 1953 - In the Brothers of the Spear featurette, an evil witch doctor uses his influence on the tribal king. This is Russ Manning's second of many issues featuring the adventures of blood brothers Dan-El and Nataongo. Though filled with details and textures (see interior page below), the artist's early work struggles with the basics. Figure drawings border on the clumsy.
