Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds v1 #6, 1957 - For
Steve Ditko fans, all the stories in this single issue are drawn by the artist. Despite having quantity, the artwork often struggles with quality. The cover is adequate composed, but the drawing seems to falter in execution. Ditko's quintet of tales have a hurried quality, keeping in mind these works are early in his career. "Strange Fate of Captain Fenton" is the most precisely drawn, while "Father, Help Me" clearly experiments with layout and sequencing (both were later reprinted in
Monster Hunters #14). Another story, "Look Deep Into My Eyes", also plays with new visual storytelling techniques. Overall, Ditko's works are significant but fall just short of distinction. This is 4 of 18
