Two-Gun Kid #47 - non-attributed Matt Baker art

Two-Gun Kid #47
Two-Gun Kid v1 #41, 1959 - A trio of Matt Baker tales nearly fill this entire issue: a sheriff's son begins to keep company with a gunfighter, a young woman catches the hero's eye and a male schoolteacher is run out of town by a bully. All three are non-attributed, but immediately recognizable in style. Unfortunately, Baker's pencils suffer from Vince Colletta's weak finishes. Most of the scenes lack detail and shading. Many of the faces and figures are sloppy and imprecise. Overall, the results are less than impressive. One bright spot is Jack Davis' terrific cover. This is 1 of 1 Two-Gun Kid issues by Baker. /// Baker gallery
