Fightin' Marines v2 #8, 1952 - Al breaks the colonel's priceless vase, prompting Canteen Kate to come up with one of her wacky solutions. Matt Baker nears the end of his run on this title. His cover layout is more static than usual, but his interior pages mostly meet expectations. His opening panel, showing a reclining Kate against the scenic backdrop, is the highlight of the story. Other artists in this golden age war comic include Gene Colan.
