Matt Baker |
Fightin' Marines v1 #7, 1952 - Trying to prevent a day of hard labor for her buddies, Canteen Kate tries to do it ahead of time with a steam shovel. Matt Baker's back-up tale is reliably drawn, once again featuring the misadventures of a likable redhead. Like previous issues, his story contrasts with the grittier theme and depiction on his cover. Though different in style, both are representative of the artist's fine output during the 1950s. This story was later reprinted in Fightin' Marines #17. Other artists in this golden age war comic include Gene Colan. This is 7 of 11 Fightin' Marines issues by Baker. /// Baker gallery
