Diary Secrets v1 #24, 1954 - At the local malt shop, two teenage girls vie for the same boy. Credit goes to Matt Baker for making this scene naturalistic and believable. The body language and facial expressions reinforce the tone. The arc of the jukebox in the background nicely frames the central character. Notice how the commotion draws no reaction from the boy being fought over. Inside the issue, the only Baker art is a reprint from Pictorial Romances #4. Other artists in this golden age romance comic include Chuck Miller.
