Ghostly Haunts #40 - Steve Ditko, non-attributed Don Newton art

Ghostly Haunts #40
Ghostly Haunts v1 #40, 1974 - Concocting a new formula, a brilliant chemist invents a way to exponentially speed up the evolutionary process. Steve Ditko's unique style is evident, but no better or worse and other works of the same era. His best effort is page 5, where he employs line and shape into a superlative composition. Don Newton supplies a primer on the history of vampire and werewolf terms. Lavishly drawn, the single page outshines the rest of the book (see interior page below). Some price guides have overlooked this attribution. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Wayne Howard and Tom Sutton. This is 1 of 2 Ghostly Haunts issues by Newton and 19 of 26 Ghostly Haunts issues by Ditko.
