Eclipse the Magazine #3 - Marshall Rogers art

Eclipse the Magazine v1 #3, 1981 - In the Coyote feature, the hero uses his mystical powers to infiltrate a criminal compound in Las Vegas. The chapter also begins to shed light on this mysterious character, who makes his second appearance in this title. Constrained by the lack of color, Marshall Rogers employs a variety of screens and gradations to increase visual interest. The first three pages (one shown below) are especially arresting. Rogers' complex layering is matched only by his bold, distinctive drawings. This story was later reprinted in the graphic novel I Am Coyote. Other artists in this issue include Gene Colan, Charles Vess, Trina Robbins and Val Mayerik. This is number 3 of 8 Eclipse Magazine issues with Rogers art and/or covers.
