Amazing Spider-man v1 #6, 1963 - In the Florida Everglades, a scientist tries to replicate the limb regeneration of reptiles, only to find his formula gone awry. Spanish forts and swamps serve as backdrops for
Steve Ditko's introduction of the
Lizard. Some of the panel grids tend to be repetitive, but not distractingly so. The opening splash of Spidey, the Lizard and his army of alligators has the most impact visually (a scene replicated on the page above). Kudos to Ditko as well for his daring, acrobatic cover design. Written by Stan Lee, this is 6 of 38
