Fightin' Marines #2 |
Fightin' Marines v1 #2, 1951 - Canteen Kate makes her first appearance as a back-up feature, lovingly drawn by Matt Baker. When Kate borrows an air conditioning unit from a major's office, trouble is sure to follow. Her girl-next-door appeal is solely due to the artist's winsome renditions. The male characters are secondary, although drawn equally well. On the cover, Baker drew the small uppermost panel on the left. This cover and story were later reprinted in Fightin' Marines #14. This issue also includes artwork by Gene Colan. This is 2 of 11 Fightin' Marines issues by Baker. /// key 1st appearance Canteen Kate / Baker gallery
