Fightin' Army v1 #90, 1970 - Assigned to a remote outpost, a young private realizes he's the bait for an oncoming Red Chinese army. Steve Ditko opens with a large opening panel, but squanders it due to lack of details. Subsequent pages display more effort, toggling between facial close-ups and amassed figures (see interior page below). The remainder of Ditko's tale more than compensates for its weak beginning. Other artists in this bronze age war comic include Rocco Mastroserio and Sam Glanzman. This is 3 of 4 Fightin' Army issues by Ditko.
