Vigilante v1 #27, 1986 - On Joe Kubert's non-attributed cover, the Vigilante's shadow in the background adds greater visual interest than usual. The distorted shapes and lines are somewhat unnerving but are effective in heightening tension. Kubert's emphasis on shape rather than line is unexpected but refreshing. Other artists in this copper age comic include Chuck Patton and Rick Magyar.
