Nightmaster. Perhaps the first sword and sorcery hero in comics, this hero preceded
Conan the Barbarian by less than a year.
Joe Kubert's sketchy approach is more often seen on DC western and war titles. Here, his cover art seems to struggle with the fantasy genre. This is compounded by the large text and masthead / trade dress that occupy much of the space. Inside, the Denny O Neil story was drawn by Jerry Grandenetti and Dick Giordano. This is 10 of 19
